What to Do When Things Go Wrong in Impact Reporting

Impact Frontiers and the African Venture Philanthropy Alliance (AVPA) are collaborating on a pilot program for Impact Performance Reporting Norms. This program will deliver a series of four webinars designed to strengthen the clarity, consistency, and practical value of impact reporting across Africa. Tailored to the continent’s unique context, the series will support the adaptation of global reporting standards to better reflect local realities, enabling more relevant, credible, and actionable impact reporting practices.

Join us on Thursday, 7th August, for the second part in the series – “What to Do When Things Go Wrong!

The key areas of discussion for this webinar include:

  • Why does transparent disclosure matter to build credibility and trust?
  • Reporting on negative impacts and under-performance, and reframing these as opportunities to learn.
  • How to capture and assess negative impacts by using a robust approach to stakeholder identification and materiality assessment?
  • From reactive to proactive – putting in place mitigation measures and identifying implications for strategy and operations

Date: 7th August 2025
Time: 4 PM EAT | 3 PM SAST | 2 PM WAT

The webinar will be facilitated by Matt Ripley (Director, Impact Frontiers), featuring expert case study insights from Valary Mumbo (Investment Manager, LGT Venture Philanthropy), and Kimberly Laguda (Head of ESG and Impact, Uhuru Investment Partners).
