Frequently Asked Questions

Organisations across the social investment spectrum, including philanthropies, impact investors, foundations, corporates, development organisations, family offices, and intermediaries, are eligible to join AVPA. Any organisation committed to deploying capital for social impact in Africa can become a member.

AVPA evaluates potential members based on several factors, including the impact of their Assets Under Management (AUM), alignment with AVPA’s areas of interest (such as ecosystem work, research, sector-specific work, and capacity building programs), interest or engagement in sustainability work, and their level of influence in their fields of operation.

The membership is divided into two tiers, each designed to enable organisations to collaborate with AVPA to advance their work and the African Social Investments ecosystem. Our members are categorised based on where the organisation is registered:

  • African Social Investors
  • International Social Investors

Membership registration is open year-round. Organisations can join at any time and immediately begin accessing member benefits.
